1. At what age do I need my own website? With many 8th graders receiving Division I scholarship attention, it is never too early to take control of your future. And it’s never too late, either. If you are attending Junior college to improve your grades, SAO is a great choice to help four-year schools learn about your plans, efforts and availability.
2. Are these website designs for all sports? Yes, our template designs are appropriate for all sports, including women’s athletics.
3. Are all the sites the same? No. You are a unique student athlete and your website will reflect this! We have several templates from which you can choose and we are always releasing new designs. In addition to selecting a unique template, you can further personalize your site with a custom color scheme.
4. Can I switch template designs? Absolutely! You may switch your template at any time for no additional cost.
5. Do you create custom websites? Yes. For an extra competitive edge, we are happy to create a custom website tailored to your specific needs. Use the "Contact Us" tab to request more information.
6. Do I own my own domain? Yes. You can request your domain's transfer to you with an email request. The process can take up to 90 days to complete.
7. Can I transfer my website to a different server? No. Your template website is owned by SAO and must be hosted by one of our servers.
8. Why can’t I login to my site? First, double-check that you are using your correct username and password. Both are case sensitive. If difficulties continue, please email welcome@starathletesonline.comwith your first and last name, email address, telephone number, username and password. We'll be in touch ASAP to resolve the issue.
9. Can I change my password? Yes. Email welcome@starathletesonline.com with your first and last name, email address, telephone number, username, current password and new password.
10. What kind of video files can I upload? Video files are first uploaded to YouTube and then embedded on your website. The length of each game highlight video cannot exceed seven minutes of total running time.
11. Can I make as many highlights as I want? You are limited to one highlight video, one game play video and one additional video of your choice, such as a bio video or a creative piece. You may change these videos at any time.
12. How long should my highlight video be? The content is far more important than the length, but the average length is 90 seconds and the longest is three minutes. Most coaches and recruiters will not watch anything over five minutes. They are not interested in background music, don't care to hear a parent or coach's voice in the background describing the action, and are unimpressed with "special effects." If necessary, try to have an arrow or halo over you on game play video so coaches can easily locate you.
13. What happens if I cancel my monthly payments? Your website will be taken down.
